An enjoyable morning was had by all.

Marcus

F5J #1 was held in the afternoon and it was a very challenging start to the season.  Conditions started with moderate wind which became a little stronger during the afternoon. Finally by the last round the direction had swung to the other side of the nearby bank of trees, creating a lot of turbulence. The difficult conditions were reflected in the scores. Of the 35 flights only 7 were over 9 min. and only 4 of these were near 10.min. The lowest height penalty was Tim with 80 metres and the highest was Jim with 283 metres. As usual a wide range of model types competed. Marcus flew a Radian and won 2 heats. David flew his Maxa and won the event in the end.

Scores were
1 David Pratley 4240
2 Al Mayhew 4178
3 Wren Brown 1456
4 Jim Houdalakis 3851
5 Russell Wiltshire
6 Marcus Stent
7 Tim Lennon
The next event is at Diggers Rest field on Dec. 8. All are welcome and remember any electric glider can win!

F5J 5 May 2013

f5j_may_2013

Sundays F5J had a good turnout for a cold day

We had 6 pilots turn up with 5 different models

2 pulsars,1 Maxa ,1 AVA,1 Supra and 1 Egida so a good selection of models to see

All had the same sort of power around 2-300 watts

It was good to see pilots worked out that they did not need to go high as quite a lot went over the 200m and took the pain when a large amount of points where taken off

1st place went to Tim, well flown Tim

2nd to David and 3rd to Grant

 Dave
