The 2014 F3K Vic State Championships were flow in windy, cool conditions, but the 7 pilots who made the trip up to the picturesque Longwood had a great time. A special thanks to Jamie for making the effort to come down from Sydeney and to his partner Louise for helping with the timing, calling and scoring.

Louise also did a great job on the camera and has uploaded a heap of pictures and video here... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9n8eoj5g9yqhtam/FW8xh9MbOs

Milang and Open Thermal

header

 Hi all,

There have been 2 events recently.

The first was Milang and a good CGA contingent travelled to Milang to enjoy the SSL hospitality and come back with the trophies.

Congratulation to Alan Mayhew for winning the preliminaries and to Jim Houdalakis for winning the Fly-offs.

Full results are here...

Updated score with Gerry now moving to 6th place... f3j_int_2014_3.pdf

The second was our local League event and 10 pilots enjoyed a great days flying and we easily got through 8 rounds of flying.

David Hobby (who is back after a hiatis due to work) started strongly with 3 x 1,000 but Marcus improved as the day progresses and going into the last round David was 5 points ahead of Marcus. Ironicaly they were both up together in the last round and after they both got away in thermals it came down to the finishing to decide the winner. Marcus scored a 10:00 and 96 (997) to David 10:00 and 91 (990) so Marcus finished 1 point ahead of David! What a finish!!

F3K #4

salpeter

Hi all,

It was one of the few days it was not blowing a gale at Diggers Rest. It started light and overcast in the morning and then became breezy and sunny in the afternoon.

6 pilots enjoyed the day but unfortunately Brett had to go home because he was feeling unwell.

We had Alan Wu from China join us and he thoroughly enjoyed the day. He has lots of potential and had some great flights. One memorable one was a Poker round where he beat Hugh and Marcus.

We had Michael Carpenter visit from the RAAF Williams club and also Josh and Blake from Monash University. They helped out  timing with the demise of Brett so their help was very much appreciated. Thank you gentlemen.

A big congrats to John for a well deserved win and Hugh for a really, really, close second.
Cheers,
Marcus

Thermal #5

supra

 Hi all,

The day started rainy and overcast but quickly improved and we completed 7 rounds by 4PM! It was very windy all day with most people flying half to full ballast. There were still lots of thermals around, but everyone managed to make at least one mistake and missed the lift at different times throughout the day. It was an excellent days flying and everyone had a great time.

Congratulations to:

1st Alan Mayhey

2nd Marcus Stent

3rd Tom Dupuche
